Wheat

The wheat harvest is almost over. I love the color of ripe wheat. This brilliant tan makes me smile. Below are two pics taken on our drive to work yesterday. One is an uncut field in Phil Majuerus' deer farm. The other photo shows the big straw bales after the cutting is done. This is the farm where our ancestor Quimby Hayes settled in about 1848 and spent the next 61 years. Let's marvel that he tended this field without machines!
